In this specific case I managed to solve it by disabling the redirection of local printers and installing the printer locally on the RD server with the default settings they wanted, but this only works because their RD server is in the same local subnet. I can recreate the problem myself when connecting to any given RD server so it doesn't seem to be an isolated issue, more by design. I have tried every trick in the book I think, but there doesn't seem to be any way of making this happen. The problem is they would like to change the default printing preferences, in this case they want to change the default settings to black & white and duplex. They use their local printer redirected to the RD server and printing is fine. They connect from Windows 7 圆4 computers to a Windows 2008 R2 remote desktop server, using mstsc.exe. I recently got this issue on my hands from a customer.
